Meet the Crew: Rebekah

Meet Rebekah aka my work wife, my right hand, my bff... basically she fills many shoes!  Rebekah began as an intern for me a few years ago and believed in me so much that she stayed through some very tough times in the beginning and became our Director of Operations.  We wouldn't be where we are today without the passion and drive from our team and she brings that and so much more to the table everyday.
What do you bring to the table at CRU?
I am extremely organized and admit to being a bit of a Type A :) I love organization and bringing my creativity to build fluidness into every aspect of my work at CRU.  When you work at a startup you have to be able to jump in and take charge, whether it is something you know how to do or something you have to teach yourself.  At CRU we all wear many different hats and I am able to learn and do just about anything, but it doesn't come without a lot of hard work, courage and sometimes a pretty steep learning curve!
What are your favorite parts of work?
My favorite part of working at CRU is that everyday is different.  One day I may be completing a spreadsheet to meet a deadline for Good Morning America, the next unpacking dinnerware at the top of a penthouse suite on Madison Avenue and then off to Germany to meet with factories and brainstorm new designs.  There is never a dull moment at CRU and there are always challenges and obstacles to overcome, but that only makes my drive for success all the more stronger.  My other favorite part about CRU is the team I get to work beside everyday.  Darbie Angell is the most driven, passionate and talented woman I know.  She has taught me what it means to reach for the stars and never give up on your dream.  There are not many people who have that raw entrepreneurial spirit and discipline to make it to the top.  Darbie is an inspiration and one of those few people who has that true spark and drive.  There are many others who are part of our team with insane talent and it has been a blast getting to know each of them and how they got where they are in life.  At CRU we are working each day for a cause that is much larger than ourselves.  Behind the face of CRU is a passion to give back and make a difference in the lives of the people we come in contact with and work alongside.  Perhaps that is my favorite thing of all and what keeps me going on the more difficult days.  Working at CRU is fun, energizing, encouraging, exciting, challenging and altogether amazing and I love every second of it 😃
What is one word that describes you?
What is your go to item in your closet?
A classy black top, I have multiple different versions :)  You can dress it up or dress it down and wear it with almost anything.  And how can you ever go wrong with black?? It's sleek and classy.
